Intersectionality and Compromise: Enacting Government Policies in the Caribbean

Abstract The Caribbean as a region managed the education delivery response to COVID-19 through policy that emphasised holistic government approach. Though each State maintains its sovereign right, throughout various phases of pandemic, locally governed Ministries Education (Carrington, 1993) created guidance for what and how was continue in this region. This approach produced unique ways continuing primary secondary school It also inevitably had unintended outcomes many other regions experienced but few could quantify qualify impact on we knew it. Some included ministerial mandates were translated into actionable activities by teachers, parents students given challenges financial, technological, teaching resources. chapter uses pandemic landscape within which stories variety stakeholders (i.e., principals, parents) from pre-tertiary sectors, select countries outline points intersectionality compromise. thus illustrates solutions formalised actioned, well drawing similarities differences extrapolate regional international view.
